Marriott International has signed an agreement with Himalayan Bliss Spa & Resorts to bring Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts to Rishikesh, India. Le Méridien Rishikesh Resort & Spa is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2028, with 120 guest rooms and suites. The resort will combine modern design with Rishikesh’s cultural heritage, targeting travellers interested in wellness and cultural experiences.
Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, meeting and event spaces, fitness centre, swimming pool, spa, kids club and activity centre. The resort will sit near landmarks such as Laxman Jhoola and The Beatles Ashram. Jolly Grant Airport is approximately 20 kilometres away.
Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President of Marriott International, said the agreement reflects the company’s focus on destinations with deep cultural and spiritual significance.
Girish Agarwal of Himalayan Bliss Spa & Resorts said the project could strengthen the region’s hospitality sector and create local jobs.
The signing supports Marriott’s expansion into spiritual destinations. Through Le Méridien, the resort will give guests opportunities to explore local culture and cuisine while meeting demand for quality accommodation in Rishikesh.
