Vietnam Airlines has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Visa and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bolster its digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The agreements were formalised during a visit to the United States by Vietnam’s General Secretary and President To Lam, accompanied by a high-level delegation.
The collaboration with Visa focuses on evolving Vietnam Airlines’ Lotusmiles programme into a comprehensive loyalty platform that extends beyond traditional frequent-flyer benefits. This includes the development of co-branded cards for both domestic and international markets, offering enhanced benefits such as priority check-in, dining, and shopping. Visa Country Manager for Vietnam and Laos, Dang Tuyet Dung, stated, “Visa looks forward to working with Vietnam Airlines to explore payment and service solutions that respond to the increasingly diverse needs of today’s customers.”
Meanwhile, the partnership with AWS aims to accelerate Vietnam Airlines’ transformation into a digital airline. The focus will be on AI applications across various operations, including passenger services and aircraft maintenance. Tedd Evers, Global Partner Leader Travel and Hospitality at AWS, remarked, “Our collaboration with Vietnam Airlines aims to accelerate digital transformation, personalise the passenger experience, and enhance service excellence.”
